High-res
Outsourcing Your LifeStyle = My start with TrunkClub.com
Fact: I’m not great at “men’s fashion.” In high school I actually got tired of people telling me things didn’t match that one day I wore my all red Dion Sanders hi-tops, brown corduroys, and a Blue and Green Notre Dame football sweatshirt. That way when people told me I didn’t match I could give them a “no crap” look in the face.
Since then I’ve gotten into the hipster-ish rut of thrift store clothes combined with free cycling and tech startup tshirts and usually 1 or 2 pair of shoes, and 1 belt.
It’s not that I’m necessarily looking for more, or to become some sort of diva. I’m actually just looking for better and getting help from someone who is an expert on having a consistently good look.
This is part of the trend I personally am more and more open to in “outsourcing” expertise for my lifestyle. It’s very “4 hour work week” where you don’t just look for a virtual assistant, but a meal planning assistant, vacation assistant, and in this case a “style assistant.”
Enter TrunkClub.com. I had found this (from a rabbit trail set of searches online) about a year ago but wasn’t open to it yet. Then I saw good friend Sam Duregger had taken the leap and had liked the experience. So, last night I signed up!
The experience is pretty basic on what you fill out, but then I also got a call this morning from Anne who is going to be the one that works with me. She was very nice and started off just wanting to hear what kind of work I do, what kind of style preferences I have, and running through what I’d listed online. The first trunk is going to be “fit and feel” as Anne said getting my sizings right and figuring out what kind of clothes fit me best and hit the style I’d like. I AM LOVING THIS PROCESS. Having someone just help and do what they do best to help me look/live the way I’d like.
I should get my trunk this week, I’ll be sure to document the process with pictures and thoughts.
(If you’d like to sign up and get Anne as your one on one assistant just click on her name.)
